Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - As Hurricane continues to barrel towards the Florida coast, Hotels around the area are beginning to fill up.
According to John Wild, President of the Auburn Opelika Tourism Bureau, our area has reached capacity for hotel availability.
"Reservations & Cancellations change often as does the storm path." says WIld, "We have taken lots of calls but it seems we are at capacity."
Evacuees fleeing from the storms typically find shelter farther south but previously scheduled events have pushed people further north.
"Dothan had a large tennis tournament and is full so they sent people to us. Now we have to send people further North."
The Bureau is recommending people head to Birmingham rather than the Auburn/Opelika area to find a place to stay.
