AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Longtime City Council member Ron Anders, Jr. has a joined the Auburn mayoral race.
Anders has served as the Ward 2 council member since 2012 and has been mayor pro tem since 2014.
Anders' family used to own Anders bookstore, and he says working in the store gave him good experience working with people to ultimately prepare him for the mayoral race.
Anders' platform focuses on public safety and education, two things he says lead to a healthy city.
The Auburn mayoral election is August 28.
