Tigers hold off late charge from Bears for first win under Golesh

ATLANTA, Ga. — Auburn Football opened its season on Saturday in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the 2026 Aflac kickoff game against the Baylor Bears, a team that the Tigers handled in Waco last season. It was significantly less easy for Auburn this time around, but Alex Golesh’s squad managed to gut out a 17-16 win thanks to a heroic goal-line tackle by sophomore safety Eric Winters.
