Auburn, Ala (EETV) – Auburn held its 11th spring practice in Jordan-Hare Stadium for the second scrimmage on Saturday. With 55 plays ran, it was 1s on 1s and 2s on 2s. Similar to the first scrimmage last week, the ratio was 60 to 40 in run to pass plays.
Head coach Gus Malzahn said the team “brought great energy.” In terms of offense against defense “both were very competitive” on the day.
CJ Tolbert scored a touchdown Saturday. The defense also got its first pick-6 from Tre Williams.
None of the quarterbacks went live today. Malzahn is “impressed with the group” on how they are performing in spring ball. As expected, there is no chance fans will see Sean White in the A-Day game next weekend.
Tray Matthews was able to participate Saturday in the scrimmage. He stood out to Malzahn.
When asked about Jarrett Stidham, sophomore running back Kam Martin said “Jarrett already looks like an SEC starter.”
Next Saturday, April 8, fans can come to Auburn’s spring game. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 in the afternoon.
