AUBURN, AL (EETV) - Strong storms are expected are forecasted to impact the Auburn area during the day on Monday.
The storm ranks in the second highest threat level issued by the National Weather Service in Birmingham. Storms are expected to move into Lee County between 11:00 am and 2:00pm.
This line of storms has the potential to bring tornados, heavy winds, hail, and localized flooding.
Those within the threat area are encouraged to stay alert throughout the day Monday. Storm shelters will open on Auburn's Campus in the event of a Tornado watch. Storm Shelters are located in the Ralph Brown Draughon Library and in Greene Hall at the Veterinary campus.
In the event of a tornado warning, all university activities are suspended until the threat has passed.
The national Weather Service is forecasting a second line of severe weather to impact the area on Wednesday.
