The Auburn Softball team just lost one of their key players for the upcoming season. Rising senior Carlee Wallace was granted release from the program June 15.
Auburn will have a big role to fill as they lose one of their offensive weapons. This past season, Wallace had a .333 batting average, seven home runs and 52 RBIs.
The reason for her departure is unknown, but Head Coach Clint Myers commented on the matter by saying, "she had a great three years here at Auburn…We hate to see her go, but wish her well. She will always be a Tiger" (AL.com)
Looking ahead Catcher Courtney Shea will be looking to fill her shoes for the upcoming season. The rising senior appeared in 59 games this past season and had a .243 batting average, 5 home runs and 33 RBIs.
