Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - One man is dead following a shooting Sunday night in Auburn.
Auburn Police responded to reports of gunshots in the 500 block of Foster Street where they found Anthony Davis, 28, dead in a grassy field.
Davis, an Auburn resident, was pronounced dead by Lee County Chief Deputy Coroner Gene Manning shortly after eleven o’clock.
Auburn police are continue to investigate the shooting, preliminary findings indicate that Davis was shot and killed during an altercation.
Davis’ body will be transported to the State Medical Examiners office in Montgomery for postmortem examination.
This incident marks the 14th homicide in Lee County this year.
The case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division, the State Medical Examiners office, and the Lee County Coroner’s Office
