Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn volleyball opened their 2017 home play Tuesday night (Aug. 29) by sweeping Alabama State 3-0 (25-11, 29-27, 25-9).
Sophomores Gwyn Jones and Shaina White led the Tigers (3-1) with 10 kills a piece. Freshman Anna Stevenson chipped in 9 kills, while senior Courtney Crable added 8 kills.
Senior libero, Jesse Earl led the match with 13 digs, with 10 more digs coming from senior Alex Filley.
Filley also added her second double-double of the season, the first coming Aug. 26 in a win over Furman, tallying 38 assists and 10 digs.
Krysta Medearis and Briana Dorsey led Alabama State (2-1) with 6 kills a piece, while Ni'yesha Brown led the Lady Hornets with 10 digs.
Auburn will travel to San Juan, Puerto Rico for the SEC vs. ACC tournament challenge. The Tigers will face North Carolina (0-2) Sept. 2 and North Carolina State (0-3) Sept. 3
