Fellow teammate Hannah Alspach, earned the same honor last week.
Bado is a redshirt senior defender and was also named SEC Defensive Player of the Week, in addition to her national honors.
“We had two great games defensively last week, and Caroline is clearly the leader of our back line,” head coach Karen Hoppa stated to Auburn Athletics. “Her defensive performance was dominant against both teams, and we are excited for her efforts to be recognized by the conference.”
The Tigers shut out Kentucky, 3-0, and had a 1-1 draw against No. 21 Tennessee last week.
Bado was a key factor in Auburn’s match with Tennessee, helping stop one of the SEC’s top scorers, Khadija Shaw. Bado limited her to just two shots.
Auburn has allowed just one goal in its first three conference games, which no Auburn team has done since 2004.
The Tigers are on the road for the next game when they play Mississippi State at 7 p.m. Friday.
