Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Police have arrested James F. Romine, 29, of Lagrange, Georgia for Burglary, Breaking and Entering of a vehicle, and Theft of Property.
The arrest stems from reports filed with police about a burglary that occurred at a residence in the 300 block of N. Ross Street and an unlawful breaking & entering of a motor vehicle in the 400 block of Harper Avenue. Officers initially responded to the burglary call; someone forced entry into an apartment and stole electronics, jewelry and a wallet.
Further investigation by Auburn Police resulted in Romine being developed as a suspect; he was identified and charged in the burglary.
A subsequent search of his vehicle resulted in the recovery of electronics reported stolen from a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, which was parked in the vicinity of the residential burglary and was burglarized during the same time frame. Detectives obtained additional arrest warrants, charging Romine in both cases and took him into custody.
Romine was transported to the Lee County Jail where he remains in custody on a $9,500 bond.
