Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - New models from the National Weather Service list Lee County under a Tropical Storm Warning.
According to NOAA, Hurricane warnings indicate that hurricane conditions (sustained winds of 74 mph or higher) are expected somewhere within the specified area. Because hurricane preparedness activities become difficult once winds reach tropical storm force (sustained winds of 39 to 73 mph), the hurricane warning is issued 36 hours in advance of the anticipated onset of tropical-storm-force winds to allow for important preparation.
We can expect Tropical Storm Conditions on Monday with sustained winds between 30 and 50 mph with gusts reaching 55-70 mph.
We should expect downed Trees and Power outages.
Many forecast models have now shifted the track of the storm to pass through Lee County.
