At about 11:00 p.m. Auburn Police responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 500 block of Shelton Mill Road. Officers observed individuals carrying a television from the rear of an apartment at which point they fled. Two suspects were apprehended in a nearby wooded area with the assistance of a police K9 team and the third suspect was apprehended as he attempted to flee the area in a vehicle.
Further investigation determined that the suspects unlawfully entered an apartment and stole various electronic devices valued at over $1,700. Officers located and recovered all of the stolen property, as well as a handgun possessed by the suspects during the burglary. Detectives obtained arrest warrants charging all three suspects with burglary first degree and theft of property second degree.
They were transported to the Lee County Jail where they remain in custody; each on a $28,000 bond.
