Football to Host Military Appreciation Weekend

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Football will honor those who serve our country this weekend at their game against Ole Miss.

The Tigers will host their Military Appreciation Game Saturday.

This week brings a chance for Auburn University to stand together behind the military that protects this country. This is a time for celebration of the men and women who fought for this great country and a time to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our country. 

Starting Friday at 2 p.m., there will be a reception to honor all military at the Auburn Alumni Center.

Retired commander of the U.S. Central Command, U.S Army, Lloyd J. Austin III (’86) will be giving the 'This is Auburn' speaking series talk on Friday at 3 p.m. in the Goodwin Rooms of the Alumni Center.

On Saturday there will be multiple tailgates free to active or inactive military with a military ID.

Come out to Tiger Walk and cheer on all the active Auburn ROTC members as they will lead the team to the stadium.

Auburn will be honoring many military members during the pre-game and at halftime of the game. The Silver Wing Aerial Demonstration Team will also be parachuting onto the field prior to the game.

All Auburn coaching staff will be wearing military patches on their sleeves for the game.

Kickoff will be at 11 a.m. in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
