Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - The AP Poll is now a thing of the past. The College Football Playoff (CFP) Poll released their first rankings of the season Tuesday evening on ESPN.
Auburn came in at number 14.
After the bye week, the 6-2 Tigers climbed from number 21 to number 16 in the latest AP Poll, which was released Sunday, Oct. 29.
Auburn had a preseason ranking of number 12 in the AP Poll and climbed as high as number 10 in week 7. The Tigers slid back down in the rankings after their loss to LSU dropped them to number 23.
Auburn's loses this season come from No. 4 Clemson and No. 19 LSU.
The Tigers will still have to face No. 1 Georgia on Nov. 11 and No. 2 Alabama on Nov. 25.
Auburn is one of 5 SEC teams ranked in the first CFP Top 25 Poll of the 2017 season.
