Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn Police arrested Jarmarcus D. Phillips, 23, of Tuskegee on felony warrants charging him with Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Vehicle and Theft of Property 3rd degree.
At approximately 6:00 a.m. Auburn Police responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of W. Magnolia Avenue. Responding officers contacted Phillips, who was in possession of items later determined to have been stolen; he was initially taken into custody on an unrelated warrant.
Further investigation determined that Phillips unlawfully entered several unlocked vehicles including a 2012 BMW 328I parked in the 200 block of W. Magnolia Avenue. A back pack, a wallet, text books and electronics valued at over $1,200 were in his possession.
Phillips was charged with Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property third degree and transported to the Lee County Jail where he was eligible for a $4,500 bond. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are possible.
