Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - According to Auburn star tackler, Trey Matthews, the team is allowed a 24 hour celebration period after a win, after that it's on to the next one.
Head coach Gus Malzahn dismissed the notion of any iron bowl celebration carrying into this weeks preparation. The team has regained focus for the next huge game this Saturday, the SEC Championship.
Auburn will take on the Georgia Bulldogs for the second time this year, giving both teams recent film to study.
Georgia leads the SEC in rushing with an average of 265.7 yards per game. Nick Chubb (91.5) and Sony Mitchell (82.1) are both ranked in the top 10. In Auburn's 40-17 win over Georgia on Nov.11, the Tigers held this Bulldog duo to 48 yards on 20 carries.
"You have to stop the run. Their running backs are phenomenal, and I think everyone knows that," said Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn. "When you do that, you worry about the passing game and everything that goes with it, and the quarterback has more experience than he did when he played us."
The SEC Championship will take place at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be broadcasted on CBS at 4 p.m. ET.
