AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Gamma Phi Beta hosted their annual fundraising event, G Phi Beat, on November 2nd to a huge crowd at the Student Activities Center. G Phi Beat is a dance competition amongst fraternities that benefits Girls on the Run, a program that works to encourage young ladies to live healthy lifestyles and be happy with who they are. Even though the main purpose for the G Phi Beat event was to raise money for GOTR, many students were excited to see fraternities “bust a move” on stage after weeks of hard work and preparation.
This year’s third place went to “The Transformation of Miley Fireus” and the second place went to “Alpha Talladega.” First place was awarded to “Fire and Sigma Pi” who took home the trophy. James Sadie, a brother at ATO, thought that even though his fraternity placed second, he “couldn’t be more proud of the whole organization as a total and the money that we raised tonight for this organization.” It’s safe to say that everyone was in good spirits because the ultimate goal was achieved and that was to sponsor Girls on the Run.
After the event was over, Joelle Trollengier, a Gamma Phi Beta philantrophy chairwomen stated, “I think this event went really well and it was a really great turnout. It was great to see a ton of other sororities and fraternities come out and support this great event and this great philanthropy.”
All the money raised during this event will go to the Girls on the Run chapter.
