AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The City of Auburn was recently recognized as one of Alabama’s safest cities.
A list of Alabama’s 25 safest cities compiled by Safehome.org, an organization that ranks and reviews home security devices.
The study reviewed a variety of data sources, including the FBI’s latest report of how many and what types of crimes occurred in U.S. cities in a year. It also considered the number of law enforcement officers compared to the population and crime trends. This data was used to calculate a safety score for Alabama cities with populations of at least 22,000.
Auburn was given a safety score of 77.47 and has the highest population of the top seven cities on the list.
This ranking is a testament to all in the Auburn Public Safety Department who work tirelessly to ensure Auburn’s residents are safe around the clock.
