Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn star running back Kerryon Johnson was named Associated Press SEC Offensive Player of The Year.
Johnson played a key role in helping the Tigers win the SEC West. He averaged 120 yards a game on the ground, with season stats of 1,320 yards and 17 touchdowns.
He was able to add 23 receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns. He even tallied one passing touchdown.
Johnson missed two of the first three games with a hamstring injury. In his returning game against Missouri, he scored 5 touchdowns.
Johnson was able to rush for over one hundred yards in eight games of the season.
To add on to his player of the year honors, Johnson was selected as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker award, given to the nation's top running back and was named to the first-team All-SEC.
Johnson and the Tigers head back to Atlanta to face UCF in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Jan. 1 at 11:30 a.m. CT.
