Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - The Tigers improved to 6-1 after their 79-63 win over George Mason Sunday.
Four Auburn players scored in double figures including Mustafa Heron. Heron led the team in scoring for the fourth-straight game with 19 points and eight rebounds.
In addition, Bryce Brown and Jared Harper finished with 16 and 12 points, while Davion Mitchell added 10.
Auburn started on fire with a 22-2 run, with points by seven players and all five starters. Although George Mason clawed back and closed the half with a 26-17 run to make the score 39-28, head coach Bruce Pearl believes “the way the game started, it couldn’t have gone any better.”
The balance was not only on the offensive side but the rebounding tally as well.
Anfernee McLemore with 10 boards and Desean Murray, Chuma Okeke, and Heron pulled down eight apiece.
Auburn continues its longest homestead of the 2017-18 season Wednesday night when it welcomes Gardner-Webb. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
