Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - After another victorious week, Auburn basketball climbs up from No. 22 to No. 17 in this week's AP Poll.
This is the highest Auburn has been ranked since they were No. 19 on Feb. 28, 2000.
With their win over Mississippi State 76-68 Saturday, the Tigers claim sole possession of the SEC, going 4-0 to start conference play and 16-1 overall.
Florida (12-5) and No. 18 Kentucky (14-3) follow closely behind in the standings, both 4-1 in the SEC.
The Tigers now have the longest active win streak in college basketball at 14 games.
This season Auburn is No. 12 in scoring offense in the country averaging 86.5 points per game. The Tigers are also 6th in blocked shots (107 blocks) and free throws made (335 of 430 made).
Sophomore forward Anfernee McLemore leads the Tigers in blocks with 52. This number puts him at No. 8 in the country in total blocks thus far.
This week, Auburn will square off against two rivals. First, the Tigers will travel to Alabama Wednesday before they return home Saturday to face Georgia.
Tip-off against Alabama (Jan. 17) will be 6 p.m. Auburn will tip-off Saturday (Jan. 20) against Georgia at 5 p.m.
Both games will be broadcast on the SEC Network. Admission is free for all homes games for students with a valid Ignited Card.
