Auburn, Ala. (EETV)- Dane Block feels it is necessary to build upon the Auburn experience. Block is from Huntsville, Al, majoring in finance and minoring in marketing. He feels that the most incredible thing at Auburn is your experience that you have.
“Something that is so unique to Auburn that you can’t find anywhere else is the Auburn experience, whatever you do that is your Auburn experience, every decision you make shapes this experience.”
Block has worked on projects with the professional clothing closet and the on-campus food pantry. For the past three years he has served on the Student Government Association (SGA) as the member of the cabinet and the Black Student Union and International Student Representative for the budget and finance committee.
"Since becoming an Auburn student and going through all that and having the different experiences and opportunities to take part in different organizations, they give me my best friends, give me opportunities to meet administrators and people of all ends of the spectrum,It’s the relationships and friendships that you build that provide the foundation that you need to move forward.”
The slogan he has for his campaign is called "Build with Block." It is the campaign structure that focused on the Auburn student and the experience they have at Auburn. He want to build upon old things and make them better.
“I’m not doing this because I love SGA, I’m doing this because I love Auburn and I love the students of Auburn."
If elected, he wants to enhance and promote anything and everything that can help create that experience for Auburn students by being more tangible to the students. "Through the student’s eyes they need a student body president, a big part of that is being a student, through the administrators eyes they need a SGA president, one that’s going to voice the students opinions as one and be respectful at the same time."
