AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Students are being warned against an FBI phone scam after several students have reported receiving calls from a number appearing to be the FBI. The caller often asks for money or claims that there is a warrant out for the person's arrest.
Now, Auburn University’s Department of Campus Safety and Security and Office of Information Technology is urging students to be cautious with how they spread their personal information.
The FBI never calls private citizens asking for money or threatening arrest.
