AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - After going 1-1, Auburn falls to No. 12 in this week's AP Poll. The Tigers were previously ranked No. 10 but fell to South Carolina Saturday 84-75.
The Tigers got a huge win Wednesday, defeating basketball powerhouse Kentucky 76-66.
After missing a game and a half, leading scorer Bryce Brown returned to the floor for Auburn. However, the Tigers got a major blow Saturday.
Forward Anfernee McLemore fractured and dislocated his ankle in the game Saturday. He had surgery Sunday and is out for the season.
Auburn is still the highest ranked SEC team in the nation. No. 19 Tennessee is the only other SEC team ranked in the top-25.
After this week, Auburn (11-3) continues to hold the top spot in the SEC. Tennessee (9-5) and Florida (8-6) round out the top-3 in the conference.
Auburn will, once again, face two SEC opponents this week. First, the Tigers will rematch in-state rival Alabama Wednesday. They will then travel to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators Saturday.
Tip-off against Alabama (Feb. 21) will be 7:30 p.m. Auburn will tip-off Saturday (Feb. 24) against Florida at 7:30 p.m.
Both games will be broadcast on the SEC Network.
