AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - After going 1-1 for the fourth straight week, Auburn falls to No. 16 from No. 14 in this week's AP Poll. The Tigers lone loss of the week came Tuesday when Auburn lost to Arkansas 91-82.
Despite going 1-1, the Tigers won their first SEC regular-season title since 1999 after defeating South Carolina 79-70 Saturday.
After finishing the regular season 25-6 and 13-5 in the conference, Auburn has earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament.
Auburn is the second- highest ranked SEC team in the nation. No. 13 Tennessee is the highest ranked conference team. No. 23 Florida is the only other ranked SEC team.
The Tigers could play up to three games in the SEC Tournament if they were to make it to the finals Sunday. First, Auburn will play the winner of the Alabama-Texas A&M (No. 8 vs. No. 9) game Friday in St. Louis.
Tip-off Friday is set for noon and will be broadcast on ESPN.
