AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Born in Florida, Dr. Bernard Lafayette grew up when segregation was still in place in many southern communities.
Lafayette, currently the Breeden Eminent Scholar in Auburn's Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities, was an active member in many civil rights events of the 1960s including the Freedom Rides and the Selma to Montgomery March.
Later in his career, Lafayette has served in various roles across the world, including Emory University and the University of Rhode Island.
Eagle Eye TV recently sat down with Lafayette to discuss his role in the early civil rights movement and his views on recent high profile national events.
