AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn basketball sophomore guard Mustapha Heron officially announced he will forego his junior year to enter the NBA Draft.
Heron made the announcement on Twitter Tuesday tweeting:
The 6'5 guard led Auburn in scoring, averaging 16.4 points per game in the 2017-2018 season. He would finish the season with 526 points.
Heron helped lead the Tigers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2003 and their first SEC regular-season title since 1999.
The Waterbury, Connecticut native joined the Tigers in 2016,
being Auburn's first 5-star signee in program history. He would finish his first season being named to the Freshman All-SEC team with 485 points on the season.Heron is the second Tiger to announce he would not be returning to the team. Last week, freshman teammate Davion Mitchell announced he would be transferring from Auburn.
