AUBURN, Ala, (EETV) - No. 10 Auburn had a successful road trip takings a three-game series against Ole Miss 2-1.
On Friday, the Tigers won 3-1 to take an early series lead. The offense was led by Justus Perry, who had an RBI single in the second inning to give Auburn a 1-0 lead. Alyssa Rivera sealed the game with a two-run home run in sixth.
Auburn's Kaylee Carlson picked up the win giving up one run and six hits on the night. The win puts Carlson one shy of tying the record for most career victories in Auburn softball history.
The Tigers would back up their win on Friday with a 5-1 victory Saturday.
Auburn got started in the third with a Morgan Podany single to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning, Kasey McCrakin scored another run off a single. Courtney Shea would score the last run of the inning with an RBI groundout to put Auburn up 3-0.
Auburn added two more runs with a Kendall Veach sacrifice fly and a Rivera single to give Auburn the 5-1 win.
Ole Miss would steal Sunday's game, winning 3-2 in eight innings. Ole Miss's Kaitlin Lee shut down the Tigers until Auburn was able to tie the game in the sixth inning off a wild pitch.
Auburn nearly took the lead but Perry was tagged out at home after a Victoria Draper single.The game would go to eight innings with Ole Miss winning off a solo home run from Amanda Roth with two outs.
After the weekend, Auburn improves their record to 33-7 overall.
Auburn returns to action at home against Kennesaw State Wednesday before welcoming Tennessee for a three-game series next Friday.
