AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Hollywood stars visited the Plains Monday for the world premiere of the new comedy, "Life of the Party," starring Melissa McCarthy and directed by Ben Falcone.
After a contest to decide which college town to premiere the movie in, Auburn came out on top and hosted the premiere at AMC Tiger 13.
Earlier Monday, the stars headed to Toomer's Corner to roll a tree with SGA President Dane Block. They also took a tour of campus and were on hand to donate $50,000 to the new Jay and Susie Performing Arts Center.
McCarthy stars as Deanna in the film, a recently divorced mom who follows her daughter to college.
McCarthy, Falcone, Julie Bowen, Debby Ryan, Gillian Jacobs, Adria Arjona, Jimmy O. Yang, Molly Gordon, Luke Benward, Matt Walsh, Stephen Root, and Jessie Ennis were all in attendance on the red carpet.
The film comes out in theaters May 11.
