AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions visited Auburn University Friday as controversy shrouds Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
Session's visit was to learn more about Auburn initiatives aimed at helping fight the opioid crisis and in training detector dogs.
Auburn University President Steven Leath praised Sessions' visit, "teaming with government leaders, we are advancing research toward life-saving solutions that include a focus on the national opioid epidemic and making our public spaces safer with the world’s most advanced canine mobile detection system.”
The AG's visit comes the same day that the New York Times released a story stating that Rosenstein allegedly considered recording conversations with President Donald Trump and discussed with FBI and Justice department officials on possibly working to "recruit" two cabinet members in an effort to start the process of invoking the 25th Amendment. Rosenstein has denied the reports.
