Auburn, Ala. - In a statement released by the city of Auburn, Auburn Police arrested Isaiah Emmanuel Smith, 22, of Midland, Georgia, charging him with rape and sodomy first degree.
Smith’s arrest comes as a result of an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault by a female minor who reported being assaulted in Auburn by a family acquaintance.
Georgia police arrested Smith on Oct. 12, 2018, after obtaining warrants and he was held in the Dekalb Council until an extradition hearing.
Smith was transported to the Lee County Jail with a $125,000 bond with additional charges being anticipated. The Auburn Police Division and Lee County Department of Human Resources continue to investigate the case.
