Auburn, Ala, (EETV)- Auburn Volleyball returned to Auburn Arena last night to face off against the Ole Miss Rebels. After a string of losses on the road, the Tigers looked to put their troubles behind them.
Before the game, senior Brenna McIlroy was honored for reaching 1,000 digs in her career. She is the seventh Auburn player to reach this milestone.
Auburn would win the first set 25-21 with kill from McIlroy to end it. The Rebels would edge the second set winning four straight points to even the score at 1-1.
The third set would go to Auburn as Tatum Shipes had two-straight kills to win the 25-23. Ole Miss would not go away as they forced a fifth set with a 27-25 set victory.
Auburn would prevail in the fifth set 15-12 despite a 6-0 run by Ole Miss to cut the lead to two. McIlroy would put the Rebels away with a kill giving Auburn thier second conference win of the season.
Auburn's record improves to 9-11 (2-8 in SEC) and they will be back in Auburn Arena at 1:30 on Sunday at 1:30 against Arkansas.
