Lahaina, HI (EETV)- Auburn and Duke faced off in a top 10 matchup in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational. Auburn looked to solve the Blue Devils high powered offense led by R.J Barret, Zion Williamson, and Cam Reddish.
Duke's offense would start fast as the duo of R.J Barret and Cam Reddish combined for 17 points to help the Blue Devils take a 20 point lead.
Auburn would settle into the game as Bryce Brown and Jared Harper led the charge to cut the deficit to 41-38 going into halftime.
Duke controlled the second half as they raced out to a 15 point lead. Auburn's Samir Doughty and Malik Dunbar fouled out of the game hurting their depth on the bench.
Auburn continued to fight as they came within five points of the lead with eight minutes to play, but Duke's potent offense slammed the door on the Tigers as they would go on to win 78-72.
Auburn's leading scorer was Jared Harper who was now scored 57 points in the last two games. Austin Wiley had a solid night as he dropped 17 points and Bryce Brown added 16 points on his night.
R.J Barret and Cam Reddish led the Blue Devils as they both scored 18 points and Zion Williamson added 13 points and 2 blocks.
The loss sends Auburn's record to 3-1 and they will play Arizona at 10:30 PM on ESPN2.
