AUBURN, Ala. -- Heisman trophy winner and College football commentator, Tim Tebow, is headed to Auburn to speak on the University’s campus Thursday, Jan. 17.
Tebow will be speaking as part of a speaker series on campus, presented by Delta Airlines. According to the university’s website, this series is, “A monthly opportunity for all Auburn students to learn from successful leaders in their respective fields on topics related to the Emerge at Auburn program.”
This free event is set to take place at 5 p.m. in the Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum, functioning as the spring kickoff for leadership organizations at the university. Also included as part of the event, there will be a leadership panel of Delta Airlines executives to speak to students.
Auburn students have the option to reserve seats ahead of the event through submitting their RSVP on AUinvolve. For members of the public, seat reservations are available online at aub.ie/rsvpdeltaspeaker.
Aside from winning the Heisman trophy at the University of Florida in 2007, Tebow is a two-time national champion, as well as a first-round National Football League draft pick, according to his website. Before becoming a college football commentator, Tebow spent three years in the NFL and even signed to play professional baseball.
Tebow is also a bestselling author, with his book, “Through My Eyes,” which was released in 2011, according to his website.
Tebow has also used his voice to start his Tim Tebow Foundation, a foundation with the mission to, “Bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need,” according to the foundation’s website. Tebow also describes that his foundation is fueled by his faith, stating in the foundations mission statement, “We would not be able to accomplish our mission without God’s blessings and the support of our generous donors and partners.”
Tebow is one of many speakers that have come to Auburn since Delta has partnered with the university. Past speakers include Stacy Brown, founder of Chicken Salad Chick, and Eryn Erickson, founder of “So Worth Loving," according to the university' website.
