Auburn, AL (EETV)- Auburn baseball opened the season with an 11-2 win over the Georgia Southern Eagles. The win moves Auburn's opening day record to 55-16.
After going down 1-0 in the first inning, the Tigers answered with five runs in the bottom of the frame.
Auburn's first two runs came with RBI singles from Edouard Julien and Conner Davis. Freshman Kason Howell drove in Auburn's third with another single on the first pitch of his career.
Auburn would tack on eight more runs thanks to Will Holland who had three RBI's on the night.
Auburn's Davis Daniel struggled in the early stages of the game allowing two runs over three innings. Elliot Anderson would come in for Daniel as he earned the win for the Tigers.
Auburn will be back tomorrow at 2 PM for game 2 of the series.
