Gainesville, FL (EETV)- Auburn Gymnastics's undefeated record was on the line as they faced the second ranked Florida Gators. Auburn would have to have a near perfect meet as Florida ranked tops in the nation in two of the four events.
Auburn started the first rotation on bars. Leading scorers were Abby Millet, who posted a 9.900 and Drew Watson with a 9.875.
Derrian Gobourne led the Tigers on the vault as she scored a 9.900 which matched her career high. Auburn would lose ground as Gracie Day and Jada Glenn stumbled on their landings.
Auburn preformed well on floor as Gracie Day led the way with a 9.925. Abby Millet also posted a 9.925 to set a career high. Overall the 49.450 on the floor was a season high for the team.
Trailing in the last event, Auburn had to step their game up to have any hopes of catching the Gators. They would do just that as Gobourne led the Tigers with a 9.800 on the beam.
Although the Tigers fought hard, it would not enough as Florida wrapped up the meet with a strong performance on the floor.
The final score was 197.850 to 196.700 as Auburn drops their first meet of the season. Auburn's 196.700 was their team high for the 2019 season.
Auburn moves to 6-1(6-1 in the SEC) and they will return to Auburn Arena next Friday Night against Arkansas
