AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn has been ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the best small places for businesses and careers.
The city was ranked No. 25 on this list. Auburn-Opelika was only one of two Alabama cities to be ranked on this list.
This rank is based off of Forbes' evaluation of 201 small metropolitan areas in the United States stemming from 14 metrics on categories such as job growth, cost of business, cost of living, income growth and more.
Auburn ranked highest in the category of job growth, at No. 8, with a 3.2 percent job growth rate and only a 3.7 percent rate of unemployment.
