Auburn Tops Arkansas 79-56

Auburn, AL (EETV)- The 17-8 Auburn Tigers hosted the Arkansas Razorbacks on Wednesday night on The Plains. The Tigers had a 13-12 advantage over Arkansas, but were 1-5 against the Razorbacks inside Auburn Arena. Auburn came into the match-up with a 6-6 SEC record and the Razorbacks with a 5-7 SEC record. 

Malik Dunbar entered the Tigers starting lineup on Wednesday night for his first start of the season and had 8 points in the first half. Auburn came out hot with a 22-1 lead. Chuma Okeke added 8 to the 45-20 halftime lead. Auburn held Arkansas to only 8 field goals on their 30 attempts. 

  Bryce Brown led the Tigers with 19 points on the night with 5 three-point shots. Anfernee Mclemore added 13 points to the win as well. 

“I am concerned about our turnovers going into our next road game,” said Coach Bruce Pearl. The Tigers gave up 21 turnovers, but still managed to defeat the Razorbacks 79-56. 

“We had to have this game,” said Coach Bruce Pearl, “We aren’t going to celebrate this we are going to build off of it.”

The Tigers travel to Lexington, Kentucky this Saturday to take on the #4 Kentucky Wildcats. The game will be shown on CBS at 12:30 p.m. CT.
