AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University officials are in the beginning phases of launching a new campus rideshare program for students, faculty and staff.
University officials recently issued a new request for proposals for the program so that potential vendors could submit ideas for the new program.
"Looking at options between Uber, Lyft, taxicab service whatever it may be," said Auburn University Director of Transportation Services Don Andrae.
Andrae said that a similar program was recently launched by the University of Alabama and that Auburn University has been looking into potential new transportation options for several years.
Officials say that the service will be offered during the university's normal business hours in addition to potential 'safe ride home' options for late night weekend transportation.
