Auburn, Alabama (EETV)- Auburn softball returned to the plains to face the UAB Blazers in the first of six games this weekend. Auburn came out successful as they defeated UAB 11-0.
Auburn got started quickly as Alyssa Rivera doubled home two runs in the bottom of the first to give Auburn a 2-0 lead. Morgan Podany added another run with a sacrifice fly to extend the lead.
The Tigers used a six run fourth inning with RBI doubles from Justus Perry and Tannon Snow to take a 9-0 lead. Auburn added two more runs to end the game in five innings.
Senior Makayla Martin had a solid performance allowing only one hit with seven strikeouts on the night. Martin pitched her 25th complete complete game in her career.
Auburn improves to 4-2 and they will return tonight against Furman with first pitch at 6 PM.
