Tuscaloosa, AL (EETV)- In a crucial matchup for both teams, Auburn escaped out of Tuscaloosa with a come from behind win.
Alabama had the hot hand in the first half as they took a 33-23 lead at halftime. Auburn struggled from three point range as they went 6-23 in the first half alone.
Auburn had a great response in the second half as they used an 11-0 run to take a three point lead with three minutes remaining.
Alabama tied the game late, but Auburn would have an answer in Jared Harper as he made two crucial layups to to silence the home crowd. Auburn would hit two more free throws as they held on for a 66-60 win.
Leading scorers tonight were Chuma Okeke with 17 points and Jared Harper who added 16 points. Kira Lewis led Alabama with 13 points and Tevin Mack had 10.
With the loss, Alabama will be on the edge of the NCAA bubble as they will most likely have to win Saturday to make clinch a spot in the NCAA tournament.
Auburn improves to 21-9 and 10-7 in the SEC. The Tigers will finish the season in Auburn Arena Saturday against Tennessee.
