Nashville, TN (EETV)- Auburn’s tournament run continues as the Tigers took down the fourth seed South Carolina Gamecocks 73-64.
South Carolina controlled much of the first half with help from Chris Silva’s 14 points. Auburn continued to struggle from three -point range, going 13-37 in the game.
Bryce Brown kept the Tigers in the game as he dropped 11 in the first half.
Austin Wiley returned to action for the first time since playing Kentucky as he scored two points with a layup on his first touch of the game.
Both teams went into the half tied at 36 as Auburn came from a four-point deficit with a minute remaining.
The second half was very tight as both teams traded baskets. Auburn took an eight point lead with 2:14 left in the game as Jared Harper dropped 19 in the second half alone.
The Tigers would ice the game with an emphatic alley-oop from Jared Harper to Chuma Okeke to give them a 12 point lead.
Leading scorers for Auburn were Jared Harper with 27 points and Bryce Brown who had 19.
Chris Silva led the Gamecocks with 27 points and 11 rebounds and Felipe Haase added 12.
Auburn will face off against the Florida Gators who knocked off the top seed LSU earlier today. Tip-off is at Noon and can be seen on ESPN.
