Nashville, TN (EETV)- Auburn's 34 year drought is over as the Tigers took down the Tennessee Volunteers in their largest defeat since 1999.
Auburn came to play early as they went toe to toe with the Volunteers. The Tigers's defense stepped up big forcing twelve turnovers in the first half.
Auburn capitalized on those turnovers with a 16-0 run to silence the Tennessee crowd. Bryce Brown led the Tigers with 11 points in the first half to help them take a 32-23 lead at halftime.
Auburn's momentum continued as they raced out to a 22 point lead with a 21-4 run to open the second half. Chuma Okeke sparked the Tigers with three straight three point jumpers.
Tennessee would have no answer for Auburn as they would fall by a final of 84-64. The Tigers are now 16-2 when breaking the 80 point mark.
Auburn's leading scorers were Bryce Brown with 19 points and Chuma Okeke who added 18. Lamonte Turner led all scorers with 24 and Grant Williams had 19.
The title is the 2nd in school history and they will await their seeding for the NCAA Tournament which will be announced tonight.
