AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Beginning on Sept. 7, Auburn Athletics implemented walk-through metal detectors at all gates of Jordan-Hare Stadium to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance.
By the fall of 2020, the Southeastern Conference will require all member schools to implement a metal detection screening system.
Auburn Athletics encourages fans to arrive at the gates 30 minutes earlier than they usually would to ensure a smooth entry for everyone. Public gates will open two hours prior to kickoff, and the student section screening process will begin two and a half hours before kickoff.
Fans will not be required to remove shoes, belts, wallets, coins, watches, jewelry, coats or hats before walking through the metal detectors. The clear bag policy will still be enforced, and contents will be inspected at screening tables.
Pocket knives are not allowed inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Attendees may bring one factory sealed water bottle that is no larger than one liter and one empty water bottle or Yeti-type cup. There are multiple water stations throughout the stadium.
