Auburn, AL(EETV)- Auburn fell to the sixth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks by a final of 5-0 on Thursday night.
The first goal of the game came from Arkansas’ forward, Anna Podojil, midway through the first half. Assisted by teammate Taylor Malham, this would be the lone goal of the first half from both teams.
The Razorbacks outshot the Tigers 15 to 7, including shots on goal. The Tigers’ accuracy was off, as they only had two shots on goal opposed to Arkansas’ eight.
The Auburn defense struggled throughout the game, as Kate Hart allowed 5 goals, the second one coming in under two minutes in the second period. Five different Razorbacks scored a goal tonight on the Auburn goalkeeper.
Arkansas’ quick strike after halftime knocked the Tigers off balance, ultimately leading to a shutout. Arkansas keeps their top 10 hopes alive as they sweep Auburn 5-0.
