AUBURN, Ala (EETV) - On Oct. 14, Governor Kay Ivey and ID Plastics LP announced the company's plan to invest 9.8 million to open its first U.S operation.
Years of experience with U.S. customers led the company to its new home in Auburn.
“Our continued efforts and partnerships with local communities have led to another great manufacturer coming to Alabama,” Governor Ivey said. “ID Plastics’ decision to select Alabama will create 50 jobs for families in East Alabama over the next three years.”
The company was formed by brothers Martin and Andreas Hartl, they plan to bring various products to Auburn from their two companies DUROtherm Plastics and the Infinex Group. The companies are headquartered in Southwest Germany with approximately 600 employees.
The Alabama Department of Commerce and the City of Auburn are committed to supporting this company as it starts its transition into a new home.
“We are grateful to be the U.S. headquarters and manufacturing location for ID Plastics,” Auburn Mayor Ron Anders said. “Through our partnership with Auburn University, Southern Union Community College and our existing industries, the City of Auburn has created an excellent environment for technology-based, value-added manufacturing operations like ID Plastics. We welcome Andreas and Martin to the Auburn family.”
With more than 80 German companies being based in Alabama, the highest for any foreign nation, the city of Auburn is excited to see what the future holds for ID Plastics.
