Auburn, Ala. (EETV) – Rex Dunham, a professor in Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences, received the 2019 Advancement of Research and Scholarship Achievement Award at Auburn University.
Dunham was chosen by Auburn University’s Research and Economic Development Advisory Board, an international group consisting of more than 40 industry professionals. The recipient of this annual award is given a $25,000 grant to assist with his or her research.
Dunham’s four decades of international research includes population genetics research on native fish populations, advancements in the field of genetic reproductive control of fish and extensive work to improve the catfish industry. He has conducted joint research in 19 states and six continents.
Dunham has received over $20 million in research funding and published almost 400 scholarly works in his career.
