AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Police have identified the body found at a property on Southview Drive as Auburn University student Chih-Kai Lai.
The 22-year-old was enrolled at Auburn University and reported missing on August 19, 2019. Lai was last seen on August 18.
On Sunday, Nov. 10, police responded to a residence in the 500 Block of Southview Drive in reference to the discovery of a deceased individual. The individual was found in an out building on the property. It appears he had been staying there.
Auburn Police Division, the State of Alabama Medical Examiner’s Office and the Lee County Coroner’s Office conducted further investigation to positively identify the deceased individual as Lai.
The investigation and postmortem examination indicated he had only been deceased for a matter of days. Foul play is not suspected.
