AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Forbes ranked Auburn No. 13 on its 2019 list of Best Small Places for Business and Careers.
Auburn climbed 12 spots from 2018's list and was on of only two Alabama cities to make the Top 20 this year. The Auburn-Opelika area war ranked No. 17 in job growth, No. 37 in education and No. 63 in cost of doing business.
According to Forbes, the city has a cost of living that is 8% below the national average. The company also says that Auburn's job growth is at 1.5% and college attainment is at 33.4%.
Forbes' rankings are based on an evaluation of 203 small metro areas in the country. The evaluations are based on 14 metrics related to job growth, costs of business and living, income growth over the last five years, educational attainment and projected economic growth through 2021.
