AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Temperatures were in the mid-40's Saturday morning but that didn't stop nearly 70 participants from jumping into the freezing Samford Pool.
Event organizer Ryan Molt said the plunge raises money for the Lee County Special Olympics. That money goes toward program costs and helping the families travel to the event.
Auburn Mayor Ron Anders was also among those who jumped in, along with the Auburn High School girls and boys soccer teams. Most participants wore costumes for their jumps in and swims across the water.
The 8th annual event is one of the largest fundraising events for the Lee County Special Olympics.
